چکیده

AIM: To report the outcomes of three cases corneal perforation managed with simultaneous tectonic Descemet stripping endothelial keratoplasty (t-DSEK) and Bowman layer transplant (t-BLT) as an alternative to penetrating (t-PKP). METHODS: Three eyes patients receiving t-DSEK t-BLT for were included. The technique DSEK was modified depending on individual requirements. standardised using 8 mm graft fixated a running suture. Success measured by ability this procedure close perforation. RESULTS: All achieved eye globe restoration remained stable during minimum 3-month observation period. Reinterventions relatively common: 2 required amniotic membrane persistent epithelial defects. One case rebubbling. developed angle closure glaucoma requiring surgical peripheral iridectomy. CONCLUSION: Simultaneous may be useful strategy management t-PKP selected cases.

Patch Grafting Using a Cryopreserved Descemet Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty Flap for Treating Corneal Perforation

A 73-year-old woman with a corneal perforation of undetermined etiology was treated with corneal patch grafting. A residual partial-thickness corneal button obtained during a previous Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK) surgery and stored at -80°C in Optisol GS for 3 months was used as a patch graft. Five days postoperatively, the anterior chamber was reformed and the ...

Tectonic DSAEK for the Management of Impending Corneal Perforation

Purpose. To report a case of severe corneal thinning secondary to dry eye treated with a tectonic Descemet stripping automated lamellar keratoplasty (DSAEK) and amniotic membrane graft. Methods. A 72-year-old man with a history of long standing diabetes mellitus type 2 and dry eye presented with 80% corneal thinning and edema on the right eye and no signs of infectious disease, initially manage...

Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty

Endothelial keratoplasty is at present the gold standard for surgical treatment of corneal endothelial pathologies not associated with significant corneal scar. Tremendous progress has been made in recent years in improving the technology of endothelial keratoplasty techniques, such as descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK) and descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty. ...

Fellow eye comparison of corneal thickness and curvature in descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty and descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty.

PURPOSE To compare posterior corneal curvature in the fellow eye of the same patients after Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK) and Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK). METHODS This retrospective, case series comparative study included consecutive patients who underwent DSAEK in one eye and DMEK in the fellow eye. Each eye underwent corneal evaluation w...

Descemet-stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty—A Review

Descemet-stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK) has become the procedure of choice to treat corneal endothelial dysfunction. The technique involves replacing the diseased host endothelium with a graft consisting of a thin layer of posterior stroma, Descemet membrane, and endothelium. In comparison to penetrating keratoplasty (PK), DSAEK confers quicker visual and structural recove...
